Under normal pressure, distilled water above 100℃ and soft water above 135℃ will cause serious corrosion to the enamel layer of glass-lined reactors and other glass-lined equipment. According to professional data from Industrial Enamel Equipment Technology Network, high-temperature water medium is one of the important causes of early failure of glass-lined layer.
The typical corrosion characteristics are obvious: discoloration and loss of gloss on the surface, rough and thinning enamel layer until failure; microscopic observation shows small fragments spalling; irregular vertical lines appear on the liquid level when condensed water flows down the wall.
The corrosion is uniform except for vertical channels formed by flowing distilled water. No bubbles will not cause short-term failure, but penetrating bubbles will lead to rapid thinning, disappearance and corrosion perforation at the bubble location.
The ionization of water increases sharply above 100℃, about 55 times that at room temperature. Hydrogen ions in water replace sodium ions in the enamel layer, forming sodium hydroxide and making the water alkaline, which continuously corrodes the enamel layer.
The technical team of Henan AIX Boiler reminds users: avoid cooking and testing with soft water or pure water. If pure water must be used, add proper acid to the water; control the head heating below 100℃ to prevent distilled water formation and protect the enamel layer.
